Default Is this true? Emissions question....

Is it true that if you register your car in an area such an area which doesn't require emissions testing that I can just call the DMV and tell them that I am moving there and give them an address down there so i can avoid taking the test? Have any of you guys done this? There is NO WAY i'm passing emissionsi think.. let me know guys!

In PA, it all depends on where your state auto registration says you live. e.g. I live in Montgomery County, PA - where emssions testing is required by law. My car has to be emissions tested every year when my anual PA inspection is due. (We also have to pay $50 too for the privilage of being emissions tested.) However, my parents live in Northampton County, PA - where they don't do emssions tests. If I wanted to, I could re-register my car to my parents address and not have to worry about emissions... I would save a heck of a lot of money in insurance premiums doing that too. Hmmm... But, of course, that would be very illegal...
