Default Trouble reading ECU codes

Put a GSR into my EX. I'm getting a check engine light, but when I jumper the pins, and turn the key to "On" it doesn't flash, just stays solid. What am I doing wrong? Is it not storing the codes for some reason? How do I figure out whats wrong? Thanks.

How do you know you're getting a code? is the MIL light on?

Are you jumpering the right wires? It's a 2 pin plug, usually brown in color. Not the 3pin one, don't jump that.

Also, make sure you are making good contact with the wires, I've done it many times, and if I don't get the paperclip just right, it does nothing.

The plug also comes in green. I've also plugged in the paper clip many times and had no results. It just wasn't in all the way. Be sure it's the right plug and be sure the metal paper clip is in all the way.

try checking your ground on your thermostat housing. I had the same problem with my civic when i did my swap. the check engine light woiuld come on but it wouldn't throw any codes. Then i tightened the bolt on the housing and it started and the CELwent away. You are the one with the problem getting the car yto start too right????

The MIL light is on when driving the car normal. Now, which one of these plugs do you jumper? I've tried both of the brown ones, and the light just stays on solid, it doesn't flash and show any codes at all.

None of the above. Where did you find those?

The one you want is above the computer and usually strapped to a harness.

Hey, thanks B18C-EJ1. I wasn't looking at the right one. It was way further up there. Anyways, I'm getting 3 codes.

10 - Intake Air Temperture
14 - Idle Air control
20 - Electrical load detector

I'm going to follow the troubleshooting steps in the Helms manual and see what I can do. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Hey thanks Soku1kcivic! I noticed that the IAC and the IAT have the same connector, and they were reversed . Also, I replaced the heater fuse that blew, and the code 20 went away (don't know if that would do anything.) After doing that, reset the ECU, and now I'm only getting code 10. I looked in my civic helms manual, and the wire colors are correct for that sensor. Now I need to find a multimeter and test the wires and stuff. Am I missing something here?
