Default Trouble getting mainshaft out!!

Here I am sitting in my garage changing the input shaft bearing in my D16Z6 tranny and everything has been going smooth until I got to where you are supposed to pull the mainshaft, countershaft, and shift fork assembly straight out.

The countershaft has no problem sliding out, but the mainshaft doesn't want to go more that a couple milimeters. I'm trying to put some elbow grease into but I want to be gentle with the parts. I know it's supposed to pop right out, so has anyone else had trouble getting their mainshaft out, or anyone have any suggestions?
