Default Transmission won't shift!!! Need Help Quick!!!

I just swapped a B16 motor I had for awhile. It came from a XSi Integra. After completeion of the swap, motor started up and ran fine. One big problem, it will not shift into gear. I adjusted the clutch cable a dozen times and still no change. But it will shift if the engine is not running. But if the engine is running, its hard to put into gear and the car starts to move on its own with releasing the clutch. For example if I shove the shift lever to 1st, the car will jump forward and shut off. What can be the problem clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, or throwout bearing? My greatest fear is the transmission. Please help!

well mr. **** star, the problem lies somewhere between the transmission and the engine.

if your clutch is moving the cable holder on the transmission sufficiently, then it's either the throwout bearing, clutch, or pressure plate.

are you sure that the clutch is orientated the correct way?

theres some rubber on the bottom of the clutch cable cut of half of it and put it on and loosen the cable completely and ill bet it works.

The cable should be just loose 1/4" to 1/8"

Sounds like your cable is too loose and not disengaging.

Well, before I even put the clutch on I made sure that the new clutch was compatible with the tranny and flywheel. I lined up the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel right. The throwout bearing looked the same as the old one, so I put the new one in (it was tricky but I did it). The cable is adjusted right, so its been checked more than a dozen times. Heres another example, lets say I put it in gear (without engine started) then start the car up. The car automatically jumps forward and thats without releasing the clutch pedal yet.

I have the same problem, except my swap has been done for about 2+ years now and had its share of break in miles down, thousands. It got rough shifting one day, wouldnt go into gear with out good shove, then went to leave for work one morning and just wouldnt go into gear period. checked the obvous but sounds like the same deal..... shes been parked since

had the same problem before. i think it was my pressure plate. because i opened it the first time to replace the throw out and pilot bearing but it still had that problem. then i just replaced the disc and pressure plate and it was fine.
