Default transmission tech question

are gears compatible between trannys?
the reason i ask is because i have always liked the smooth dual synchro shifting of the gsr tranny.. but prefer the longer gears of the ls. so i would like to build up a gsr tranny with ls gears if that is possible.
anyone have experience with this?

there are only subtle differences between the two transmissions of the 94-01 y80's( gsr/ ls/gs)
gears, and final drive( diff bearings too). idont know what you mean by dual synchro shifting.
however, a comon hybrid trans is a gsr final with the ls gears. this is comonly used with b sereis turbo motors on the strip.

The gear spacing on the GS-R is better. If you wanna help the turbo out then use the LS's final drive to give the turbo more time to spool.
