Default transmission questions, what kind of diff is this??

I bought this transmission from a guy in chicago that is a Japanese motor and tranny dealer. It is a b16 tranny with a diff in it that I have never seen before. Take a look and let me know what you think, who knows what kind of diff this is??

If it B16 gearing, and a factory diff, you have a Type R trans.

Looks like a torsen diff to me, but it's hard to tell in the pics. Kaaz/Cusco aren't fully see through. Neither are OBX/Quaifes because of the washer packs. OEM LSDs are the only ones I know of that have an untapering, straight shot through the center.

no it's not, it's either a quaife or an obx

Well like I said, it's hard to tell in the pics - is it a straight shot through the center, or is there a washer pack in the middle? The pictures he posted make it hard to tell. To me, it looks like there is no obstruction in the middle and the hole is the size of the axle splines all the way through the center.

He must have an old one, before they started preloading them.
