Default Transmission Question

My brother has recently started having some grinding issues in his tranny. I was wondering how difficult is it to replace the synchros in a d series tranny and if its even worth it. I wish i would have saved my Y8 tranny from my swap but its too late for that. I think it might be time to look for a new tranny but if its not too big of a job we will just rebuild the one he has.

How old is the clutch? sometimes when the clutch gets old it doesnt want to release all the way and causes a grind. I would also try some syncromesh trans fluid also. It fixed my buddies 3rd gear grind in his teg.

I had the same issues and it turned out to be a bad clutch.
Is it one gear in perticular or all of them?
