transmission problems
okay, I had this engine in last year. B16b lsd tranny and everything was fine. I built it up over the winter and have just got it in.
Problem: tranny shifts fine when the engine is not running. when the engine is running and the clutch is depressed I can't get it into first, second is almost impossible and third is a little easier. I am thinking it must be something with the clutch, but I want to know if anyone has had any similar problems before I take it back out!!!!!!!

sounds like the clutch is not engaging all the way... I would say check the MC for the clutch? That problem happens to me on my cable tranny when I forget to adjust the tension on the cable. (stupidly it's happened twice).
I have a B16b and the same exact thing is happening to me...dont change your slave cylinder cause its not it, its either the clutch or its the MC
just one question; is your clutch chattering???

It could very well be the slave cylinder; if you just installed it, however, I would first make sure there is no air in the system.

I know its not the mc because I was driving the car last week with the stocke engine. I bled the line a few times, but the pedal still feels a little soft.......
The clutch is not chattering, I can upshift ok, but downshifting is a real chore and it works a little better when I rev match. I am thinking that the clutch fork may have slipped on one end of the throw out bearing or it could be the pressure plate, it is a new CM stage 3 clutch.
I just don't want to yank the whole motor to get the tranny out, is it really that big of a pain to do it in the car. I have had the engine out 4 times already, so its not a big deal, just want to know if there is an easier way.

i went to my last resort which is my mechanic, he said that it may just be the clutch pedal itself, he will be stopping by tommorrow so once he tells me whats going on i will share my problem because we seem to have the same problem except for the chattering i hope its just the clutch pedal in need of adjustment
