Transmission assembly problem
Eh yo, I got a problem here.... this weekend I was changing my clutch and now I'm having trouble bringing the transmission back up to the engine and aligning the teeth right for it to fit in to the clutch. Does anyone have a special technigue or way to help get it in easier. All I have are three jacks and a couple friends helping me do this... ghetto as hell huh, but that's all I have to work with.. thanks
Ahh yeah it sometimes can be little tricky lining up the input shaft, try putting some grease on the end of the shaft and "jiggling" the tranny in should do the trick.
try to eyeball the splines of the clutch disc and the pilot bearing. make sure its looks straight. if u used one of the dummie shafts to line up ur disc, then its prob not straight. thoese suck.
also try a little grease, VERY little on the pilot bearing

I always make sure the splines on the clutch dics are the same as the tranny. One time I got the wrong splined clutch. I know the 90-91 and 92-up b-series clutch discs are different. Also one time one of the splines was not perfect and had a bur on the end and was hard to slide on at first. Make sure its the right clutch disc, lube it up, and good luck. They can be a real pain sometimes depending on car make and mode, especially a prelude sh with separate LSD unit.
