Default tranny wiring problem

i just did a auto to 5 speed swap in my 98 ex civic. i have heard from ppl that you have to re wire the wires in the auto shifter?? is this true...... i have a 5 speed computer... please help i need to finish this swap

If memory serves, Key lock and starter lock are the culprits. It's been a long time, but all you should have to do is make a jumper to simluate the car being in Drive (you can't engage starter on an auto with shifter in neutral/park). Look at the electrical diagram in the helms and you should be able to figure it out
