help..my reverse light is out.
its been out ever since swapping auto to manual tranny.
Anyone know where or what the problem is.
I'm taking my car this week to a mechanic for VA state inspection.
his must be in working order before passing the inspection...sigh
If anyone can tell me whats wrong so that I can mention it when i'm at the shop.
Also If anyone could tell me where i could go to fix it. Dealer? mechanic shop? performance shop?

you need to do some more wiring i don't know what but i remember reading that you had to.

definitely the wiring! i don't know where since u got an 98 ls. but for my crx, its near the block number & tranny, close the coolant sensor.

Where your wiring for the auto shifter used to be, you need to locate the wires/contacts that were used for the revese lights. Run 2 wires from those contacts into your engine bay to the 2 wire pig tail that comes out of the transmission next to the clutch cylinder.

Thanks...is this the solution. I have no clue where its at physically so i'll have to bring my car to a mechanic.
Would any mechanic be able to fix this or certain mechanics that can do engine swaps? thanks man

swap including tranny and labor and misc parts..."ACT clutch, toda flywheel Skunk2 shortshifter, SK2 shift ****, shift linkage....etc running close to 2 G

the place that swapped it should be able to finish the job and wire in the back-up switch for you. other than that it is more of a question of which mechanic WANTS to do that.

unfortunately i can't go back to the shop. Most mechanic wouldn't do the job??
Do i have to go inlinepro for something like this? thanks

Sorry, I don't know the answer but why can't you go back to the shop and how in the hell did you get all of the parts and labor done for only 2g's???

Just call around some shops around VA...You can even try MMRUSA.com and get their number and ask them. I've heard a lot of good stuff about inline, but they're going to cost you some money. But just call around some shops, Inline, Nu Image, Autothority, Quality Tire, IPT performance, Auto Trends...These are all in VA, mostly from springfield and down towards south...Woodbridge( prince william county). Hope this helps.

Get a Helms manual. It should tell you where the back-up switch is.
