Default Tranny problems?

I took my car out to the track last month. While I was doing a burn out, my tranny took a **** on me. I can still shift through all gears, but when I put it in gear and let off the clutch, I hear a grinding sound and the engine doesn't stall. When I have it in second gear and give it gas my mph goes up, but the car doesnt move. All this happened when I was doing a first gear burn out. I think the diff on the tranny is shot, but not sure. Maybe some of you guy's can help. If so should I buy a new tranny? Rebuild.? If it is the diff can I just stick on an lsd.? What other parts could have broke?
