Default wont shift

My tranny just broke on the way home, and the linkage is still good, but I have never worked on a linkage tranny. But my opinion is somehow the shift fork let loose... It has the shift pattern, but everything is REALLY easy... and it wont "catch" a gear.

Anyone ever had this happen to them? What was the problem?

broken parts inside the tranny.

Find a spare and install it, then you get to learn how to split open a tranny.

Supply pics, they are a great help for others and me to walk you thru it.

when i've dealt with this before, one of the tabs on the selector mechanism that links to the shift rod broke. did you actually inspect all linkage connections, shifter, and associated hardware to make sure nothing came loose?

how were you driving/shifting when this happened?
