tps problem!PLEASE HELP!
As long *** you do ur part and research im on my phone so dont.expect me to go.to great lengths to.help. If you can find a diagram for your model car. Than it.shouldnt be too hard to.fix once you have a meter.
you mean like this?http://www.fixya.com/cars/t2804643-g...92_honda_civic
by the way i do have the meter now.

You need the engine harness and ecu pinouts. Or helms. I tried looking at the pics in the links bit tjere too small I searched around a little and didnt find any.
Post tje description for the code your trying to clear. Since you have a meter you can check for opens in wiring goi.g from the ecu to your tps if thats the proplem and can check for the proper voltage going to the tps and for a proper ground if all this is good then you change your tps out. I have a hes for my 96 covic the test for the tps should be the same so ill check that in the morning

Okay I got my helms. Now get your volt meter set it to read dc voltage more than 12v there should be a 200 setting. Okay find your tps and disconnect the connector. You should have a green and black wire wich is negative and yellow blue wich should have 5v going to your tps. Take your black probe of the meter and put it to your battery negative and the red probe to your yel\blue wire you should have 5v if not that's your problem. If you have voltage then connect reconnect the connector and you will need to backprobe the connector meaning stick the red and black probes of the meter into the back of the connector. With the key on watch the voltage it should be low around 0:5 volts and as you open the throttle plate it should smoothly rise if it fluctuates (bounces from 0.5 to2:5 to 3.2v than your tps is bad and needs to be changed. And also make sure your negative is goood by checking resistance from your grn/blk wire to ground. The meter should read zero if its good.
ok ill do that tomorrow.couple questions i have.when you key on just turned on not motor running?and what do you mean open the throttle pate?how do i check resistance on my ground would that be on my battery?
Yes key on meaning turn the key and leave it with all the cluster lights on. The throttle plate is connected to your throttle cable. And there should be a junction under your intake manifold where all the grounds come together or test to the ground oon your thermostat..

If. You have your 12v input to the tps and a good ground.(check resistance from your thermostat housing to your ground). It should read zero or close to it. If that's all good then check the last remaining wire that wire is the input going into your ecu. If that voltage fluctuates a lot when opening and closing the throttle plate than your tps is worn and will need to be changed. If it reads good then check resistance of that wire from the tps back to your ecu again it should read zero or close to it.
alrite guys update on this.i tried doing the volt meter thing and i when put the positive into the yellow/blu wire and the neg to the green wire it read .05 would that mean its bad i couldnt just check it with the pedal pressed cause i have nobody to help me but would that be enough info to get the tps sensor changed?
