Default tps problem

my car used to idle at 500rpm no matter WHAT i did. even if i took out the idle adjust screw with or without the IACV plugged in. nothing worked.

pulled off TPS.. looked okay. put it back on, now car idles at 2000rpm with idle adjust screw all the way in.. and i have the CEL for "TPS angle blah, blah"

can someone tell me why i can't seem to get it right? if i turn the TPS, it revs higher. right now it's turned as far as it will go to get idle down. idle adjust screw is in all the way.

i'm lost. i know it has to do with voltage... but how do i FIX IT?? thanks!

i tried that. it is adjusted all the way back. if i manually turn the throttle body, it will close a bit more and the idle will go down. almost as if my throttle cable is too tight, but it's not. so i'm thinking maybe i just need to back out the throttle stop set screw? i'll keep messing with it.

just seems weird to me how it is idling at 500rpm one minute, then 2000rpm then next.

stupid, stupid mistake:

the lever on the TPS was OUTSIDE the space in the throttle body it was supposed to set in.

okay. all fixed. back to .45 volts!!!

but i STILL have no idea why my car idles the same no matter what i adjust. it's at 750 rpm no matter HOW far the idle adjust screw is out, timing, etc, etc. i think the uberdata chip is programmed for 750rpm

if it automatically idles at 750 that is because the ecu is programmed to idle there

call me Cap'n Obvious

actually, it is programmed to idle @ 1000 rpm via Uberdata, Capt Obvious.

i assume the car idles low now because the base map i'm using is too rich. REALLY rich.

did some checking. TPS is fine. car is running SO rich, it doesn't register on wideband below 3500rpm and more than 10hg/in of vaccum !!!!

i'm not driving it 'till it's tuned. washing your cylinders is a bad thing.

well, i'm running a map meant for a JRSC. it was just to get my car tuned, which i did. the injectors were 550s and the map was just set for waaaaay more fuel @ 11+hg vaccum and less than 4k rpm than it needed. really bad. all is well now, though. car runs great. i love being tuned and happy
