Default TPS based shiftlight

It's real basic, who makes TPS based shift lights?

In case you're wondering what a TPS shift light is, it's like the setup the S-10 pickup uses. It's not a shift light that has a direct correlation with RPM (like the shift light on a tachometer) - it reads both the RPM and throttle positioning sensor readings and decides when a good point to shift in.

For example, if you've got the pedal to the floor, obviously you're trying to speed up quicker, so it won't light up until the redline, but if you're crusing in 4th and barely touching the pedal, it'll come on at like 3k RPM to tell you to hit 5th, because obviously whever you're driving doesn't require you to be heavy on the gas.

If you don't understand, don't worry about it, if you've driven an S-10 w/o a tach I'm sure you'll understand 100%.

So does anybody know who makes them? If anybody?

I know what you're refering to, a load based shift light. typically it's not TPS based though, but map based.
But I've havn't seen one aftermarket in many years.

Yeah, that's why I said if you don't understand it don't bother trying to.
