Default Shift light?

Aparently the 06 SI has a built in shift light. I've never seen mine light up, nor know how to use it. I know-RTFM right? I'm just curious if anyone has seen this? If so how do i use it?

Shift it on the fifth time you hear it bounce off the limiter. When the needle touches 9,000 5 times, go ahead and shift. Makes VTEC hit extra hard in subsequent gears.

Just so you know, the above post was a joke... if you dont know what the shift light is, im assuming you might not catch his sarcasm.

Mine seems to come on around 7,800 blinking, and stay on around 8,300rpm. It is located under your gas guage. Bring the car up to high revs in 3rd or 4th gear if you are not used to redlining and shifting quick, so you can learn to use the light if you need to. Then later, do it in 1st and 2nd.
