Default tps bad??? yea or nea

I posted yesterday about my vafc reading only 85% throttle when i have it fully depressed. i was wondering if it is possible for a tps to go bad yet not throw a code for check engine light???

did you solder the wires?, maybe there is a voltage drop.

Check and make sure the throttle cable is adjusted properly. That can screw with throttle position, and also check if your tps has been moved.

throttle is A OK. not sure bout the tps "moving" what do you mean by this

the TPS can rotate left or right, if it rotated its possible its not calibrated anymore. just grab onto the back of it and see if you can twist it.

Yes this could be your problem.... but first I would first reset your VAFC and recalibrate it... If you aren't getting a CEL and your car seems to be running fine it's probably just the VAFC... If not then voltmeter the TPS off the signal (middle) line and slot the rivets with a dremel so that you car rotate it till you get ~0.45volts.... Then check it at WOT... See that it is around 4.5-5.0volts... I would buy some normal screws inplace of the rivets and you should be set... Good Luck
