What exactly are you doing with the motor? There are many tools you need.

Just new pistons and conrods to the block and most likely a whole new valvetrain.

torque wrench, ring compressor, ring expander, socket set, breaker bar, rachet (3/8" and 1/2"), manual, possibly a micrometer or caliper depending on if you're using things that need to be stretched and measured, time, patience, the ability to look over everything and check clearances properly, possibly some plastigauges. Trash bags to keep things like your crank and girdle (if you have one) in so they get no dirt on them. Air compressor for sure, Air bush deal so you can properly and effectively blow air on parts to clean them off...A varible speed drill, a hammer, a flex hone which is the proper size to knock the glaze off your cylinder walls. Oil, Lint free paper towels to clean out the cylinders, those little metal strips, whatever the hell they're called to be able to check clearances. I think thats it

edit: if you're doing the valve train you'll need a spring compressor, valve grinding compound. Easy and fast way to remove the **** from the springs is put a socket over the valve you wanna remove the spring from. Hold the socket there, and give it a good wack with a hammer, be careful not to slip and also be ready to catch your little metal doodads that hold the spring down as they might slide off. Easy and fast and effective.
