Timing question??? Very odd. Tech heads look here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you guys think its possible for a H22 to run at 50 degrees advanced timing. It shouldnt be running at all if it read 50 plus right.? The reason i ask is that i have a 94 H22 in my civic. I had a cel for the cyp sensor but i fixed it yesterday . No cel any longer. I then went to check and set timing. I had the jumper in the tester in the kick panel, started the car and attached the test light to the number one plug wire. Then pulled the plug in the tranny and pointed the light in. The damn thing read plus 50 degrees no matter what i did. This cannot be right. It would not run at that. I drive this car everyday and it gets 26 MPG. That cannot be possible. I am stumped. I have a clutch masters flywheel and i thought maybe the marks could be wrong. Any ideas guys??? Everything lines up TDC and its all in time. I ran short of time last night, but i was gonna set it at TDC and then mark the flywheel with some white paint or something and then check the timing. Any ideas lets here them. Thanks.

your problem is when you installed the flywheel you did not align the mark ... common error. You need to set you crank to TDC with the oil dipstick thru the sparkplug hole and mark your crank pulley .. then time it from there ... also when you align to TDC check the mark on the flywheel and you'll see its off.
