Default timing marks

i was trying to do my timing , but the whit mark is the one that is lining up with the mark on the cover... so after doing some searching i decided to check my timing marks on my cam gears for the thirs time, this time i noticed they are off a very little bit, when the crank pulley is at top ded center there is maybe a millimeter difference between the two lines on the cam gears , but it doesnt seem enough to justify it being off a tooth my car has been running better but still just isnt running spot on... please help, and also could there be anything else that would cause my ignition timing to be off that much? setup is b16a in crx pr3 stock everything

Just curious, but, uh....how?

Distributor only goes on one way, rotor has a screw that holds it in it's only positions.

the threads go all the way through the shaft on the distributor ... so you can actually put it two ways, not that you would want to...
