HELP oil pressure issue
i have a 91 teg with second gen b16, and my oil light is on now. it has come on a few times in the past, but only for a few seconds and then it shuts off. i havent checked my oil pressure yet but oil is getting to the head and i still have vtec. i just changed the oil press. switch cause i thought that migth be it but that did not fix the problem. i didnt go into real depth with checking the wiring but from what i saw it was ok. what is the easiest way to check oil press. in the block. if i have a clogged passage in the block how can i clean it out. any ideas, tips, help, suggestions withthis situation will be greatly appreciated
Go buy a cheapo sun pro oil pressure gauge from autozone ($15), put the pressure sending unit into the 1/8" NPT fitting on the passenger side of the head behind distributor and above t-stat housing. Start car, if there's pressure, you're ok, if not, find out why.
Note - there's 3 oil fittings in the head where you can check oil, one is big, the other two are 1/8"NPT, make sure you check the rear 1/8 because the front one only has pressure when VTEC engages.
