Timing belt shredded! HELP!

Default Timing belt shredded! HELP!

i got my timing belt, water pump and all that crap changed about a week ago and while at the recent cmi, i was shooting nitrous and my timing belt start shredding. the timing belt is still on there but its like half gone. any ideas on why it would do this?? im thinking that the timing belt was put on wrong, im calling the shop to see whats up. any help on this would be nice

Sounds like someone installed it very wrong. I would have a serious talk with whoever did that.

On the crank pulley there's a metal ring. The purpose of this ring is to keep the timing belt from walking off the gears. It has an inside and an outside, the inside being convex and smooth and happy. If it was installed backwards, with the outer, sharp, angry part rubbing the belt, it can cause this kind of thing. Just a thought sitting way over here...

i dont know.. i was using the bottle... could it be the tensioner going out?

same thing happened to me, cut the belt in half, luckily i didn't bend any valves

its the tetioner i have a bad one on my engine...the down size it cost about $55 for a new one
