Default Timing belt: Is this normal?

Pulled my valve cover last night to check things over, and saw that my timing belt was a little weird looking. Is this normal for the belt not to be centered?

It looks a little off. How long has it been since the belt has been changed/removed/messed with? Mine is a little off center, but certainly not that much.

You could check everything out release the tension, try rec-entering it then re-tensioning it. Or you could just leave it and check it again every so often; see if it changes.

The car just got running about a month ago, so that was when it was installed. The car is going back to the shop in 2 days for a slight tuning adjustment and valve adjustment so I'll have them check it out.

That would be a good idea. Get a second opinion on it.

There are to washers that are installed down on your crank gear.. one in back of the gear and one in front.. I have seen belts walk when.. the washers are installed wrong.

The washers have a dome shape to them.. both the dome sides needs to face the belt .. that will keep the belt in the center of the gear at all time.?

did that help at all
