Default time belt two teeth wrong

My boss has a vw and his timing belt went bad, the ford dealership replaced it but the timing belt was two teeth off. What can this cause. He wants to call the ford dealership and cuss them out, but would like further understanding of what this issue can cause, cuz now is car is at the vw dealership getting fixed. Thanks all.

Hard to say without knowing what went wrong... Maybe since a Ford place did it they didn't know how to tension the belt properly? My VWs ('82 & '86) seemed pretty straightforward, easy to do... But if the tensioner was loose, it can skip a tooth while running.

Only a couple teeth off, and not broke, probably no damage. It just ran like crap while it was off. Just like what your Honda would do. Even your Honda would probably have to be off a lot more than that before pistons start hitting valves.
