Default ITR Speed Limiter

So I was trying to max out my speed on the freeway with my B20vtec swap and out of nowhere I bounced off the speed limiter at 120mph.

ECU - JDM ITR
Cams- CTR

Is it suppose to limit the speed at 120mph? How come the cluster says differently?

Also, I reved to about 8,900rpm (by accident). Don't know if it went any further, but I took my foot off the pedal immediately (I mis-shifted). I thought fuel cut off was at 8,500?

not sure about the speed limiter cuttin in at 120. but thats only fuel cut off thats at 8500, that doesnt stop your engine from reving up when you down shift like that. i mis-shifted from 3rd-2nd when i was at 8100 rpms , but my car still runs, thank god. do a compression test and make sure you didnt bend any valves.

The cluster you have is in Km/h so when converted into mph, its about 120 or so. By they way, the JDM ecu you have has a speed governor between 110 and 120 mph. So yes, with your setup, that is normal. Talk to the ecu guys here on this board, they may be able to remove that governor for you if you really need to.

The JDM ECU has a 180km/hr speed limiter...there are several devices out there that can bypass it (eg. R-spec VTEC controller)

Speed limiter at 120?? I dont get it.. Redline in 4th gear in my GSR is 120--- So at 120 I shift into 5th.. There is no speed limiter.. Speed stops when you hit "REV LIMITER" in 5th gear. So im sayin over 140 or so.. no??

doesnt work that way. the japanese itr isnt capable of exceeding 120mph or 180km/h regardless of what gear you are in. It could be in 5th gear at 7000rpm and the speed limiter would prevent it from goig any faster. It's very easily bypassed and not worth this argument. -=o)
