Default thrust washers

could thrust washers going bad cause engine to smoke? i've heard it could but not sure if that was just talk. also if they are "going bad" do they sound like bearings going bad? rattling and all?

It can cause crankcase smoke.It won't show up in the exhaust.I've repaired a couple engines that the only symptom was a lot of oil vapor out the breather.The trust was wiped out from clutch/tranny issues.
