Throwing cel code 14, IAC what to test?
I was driving and all of a sudden my car started to idle like crap around 1200 and moving up and down very rapidly. So I got home and pulled the code and it is 14 IAC. What should I start by checking?
well if you haven't fixed your problem yet, try
1. take the iacv sensor off, it has 2 bolts, and spray the dirty sensor off with some carb cleaner.
2. if that doesn't work try replacing it.
I'm have the same trouble and did everything and CEL still won't go away.

If you have the "up and down idle" syndrome (sucks at stoplights, high?) sounds like it could be a leak in the mani. That will cause your ECU to throw a code like that or similar....did you check all your vacuum lines and plugs, etc.?

I can't even idle, the car dies out when the foot is off the gas. So i have to keep the foot on the gas so the RMPs don't fall to 0 causing the car to die out.
i am throwin the same code...i was also told that i have an opening on the backside of the manifold that if i was to put my finger over it, the idle would drop and almost kill the car..i havent looked at it yet...
YEAH IM A NEWBIE. But at least I Can say that I never had to take my car to the shop, I fixed all problems myself.
I FIXED IT!!!! I had CEL #14. I had the same problem, engine would die out at stops. It also would bog real bad that my whole car would shake (AT 1,500-2,000 RPM). I found out that my IAC sensor WIRE WAS SLICED for some reason. I checked the sensor wire for good connection with a fuse checker, and there was no path. So I checked the wire and sure enough that was it. So check your wiring before you start buying anything. This didnt cost me a penny. CHECK YOUR WIRING!!!
