I asked a question awhile back on header wrap, and I found it causes more problems then its worth. If you don't wrap them right moisture can get in and cause rust ( if its ceramic ) and it also traps in heat and causes premature wear on the header.

I wrapped my DC header and will continue to wrap headers. The underhood temps are much lower giving you cooler more dense intake charges. I used a wrap from DEI which I got a summit racing. 1" for the primaries and 2" for the secondaries...

Get the silicone spray, also from DEI, to coat the wrap to prevent moisture from becoming trapped underneath it. Use regular pipe clamps and not those stupid dei ones that don't work anyway.

I know this can be a problem with mild steel headers, but I think if you're wrapping stainless, you're ok. Anybody can confirm this?

They have been known to crack the headers as well. The only headers that would be worth doing it to would be cast iron ones like the oem JDM 4-1.

Yes you are right, but it still traps in the heat and that causes problems to over time.
