Is there a difference between USDM D16Y8 and the JDM?

Is there a difference between USDM D16Y8 and the JDM?
I would think that there might be a small difference.....i.e. higher compression or something but, I would like to know what the difference is if there is one.

Interesting question, I never thought of that...I hope someone has an answer. Problem is, most people dont give two ***** about the poor little d16.
