Default Test for Vtec

What is the way to test the selnoid and the pressure sensor on a Vtec engine.. just did the swap (89 SI to 93 D15 Vtec with harness cross-ver OBD0 to OBD1) Everything wired ,, engine runs great but no Vtec and somethime the eng light comes on .. Any suggestions......??????

if the check engine light comes on sometimes it sound like you have a loose wire. to test the vtec soleniod, disconnect the connector at the vtec soleniod. run a piece of wire from the vtec soleniod itself(not the green/yellow wire) to the positive side of the battery. as soon as you touch the battery you should hear the soleniod click. if it doesnt click then its bad
