Default Test pipe fitment question help!!!!

Does a regular test pipe bolts up directly onto a cat back exhaust system or do you have to cut and weld flanges and pipe to make it fit? reason being i have a ek hatch and just got a megan racing cat back exhaust but i have no cat and in need a something cheap like a test pipe from kteller or something but wasn't sure if the normal size length test pipes are made to bolt on directly in place of a cat?

test pipes are pretty cheap...

a 2 or 3' straight pipe will cost like $10 at a muffler shop
and you can search around for flanges... usually $10 each

use a grinder to cut the pipe to length and
have the muffler shop weld it together for you (~$5)
or have a friend do it for you (free)

if you're gonna have to worry about inspection and/or
emissions testing, i'd recommend getting a carsound cat (~$50)
and have the flanges welded to that...

i was trying to avoid doing all that cutting and welding at a muffler shop cause most of the muffler shops here won't do it if you r eliminating a cat.

Do the cutting and measuring yourself then just take it to and exhaust shop and have flanges welded on. Don't tell them what you're using it for. That's what I did.
