Ok here is the story. I installed a b18c1 mtoor in my hatch like 5 weeks ago already and it still doesn't run right. I haven't been able to figure out whats wrong with it. I need some tech help please. Ok car idles a little rough and when i try and drive it it has no power and runs really really rough. I checked the timing and it is about 16degrees btdc and my car idles at about 1,000 rpm The wires are good. The check engine light is on but when i go to loop the service connector for a CEL code all that happens is my srs light blinks in no pattern. I hooked up the two vtec wires, the knock sensor and made a chasis ground for my vtec press switch. I have a skunk2 intake manifold so the plug for the dual butterfly isn't plugged in anywhere and the evap purge i hooked up the red wire but not the power wire. Please any help would be awesome. I am really starting to get pissed off.

 

So when you jumper the SCS nothing different happens to the CEL? Is the SCS OK? On my '95 it's connected to D-4. I don't know if that's different for OBD-2 B18C1 ECMs. Jumpering the SCS is exactly the same as shorting D-4 to ground.

 

Ya the SRS is ok.. and i tried shorting to ground on the connectore and the same thing happens just my srs light blink and check engine light stays on.

 

first of all make sure all wires go to where they are supposed to go and done correctly,check all your grounds,fuses,try to do a tune-up,make sure your timing is good...etc.

 

Ya it was the wiring . I went off of a bad wiring diagram off the internet... It was totally wrong and i had a bunch of wires that were messn **** up. But now it runs really well just need lots of tuning.
