Taking off the Rod end Cap?

Taking off the Rod end Cap?
I'm trying to pull out some eagle rod end caps off. Already unbolted the 2 bolts holding it...but can't get the end cap to pop off. I tried using a vise grip and pulling but it wont budge. Any tricks?

Hope you didn't scar the rod. Screw the bolts part way in and tap the head of the bolt with a plastic or wooden hammer. That should seperate top from bottom.

if you tap one end of the rod cap with a small hammer, it'll move that side up and lower the other side. do a lil bit of tapping from one side to side, and eventually both will lifted slowly
