Default tailights problem

one of my tailights don't work (lights don't work) when I turn my lights on
they only work when i hit the brakes, I know its not the bulbs cuz I just replaced them

i was thinking it could be a fuse ? i couldn't find any fuse's for the tailights though unless Im wrong?

any help would be apreciated

go find a circuit schematic for your car.

trace everything that powers exterior lighting.

there is probably a short to ground somewhere.

you can narrow out your brake light switch because we know that's working.

get a schematic, multimeter/test light and start testing ****.
if your not mechanically inclined, take it to a dealer..

first i would try looking for the obvious.. look for corroded, sliced wires, disconnected plugs etc in your trunk area..

hope i helped.
good luck

A short would blow fuses. I'd look for an open ground. Having a circuit diagram would be good, too.

it could be a short, or also, there are diffrent types of tail light bulbs. some have 1 filament, some have 2. make sure you put the right kind of bulb in there.

I've swaped bulbs from the working tailights and have the same problem
