Default Problem

doing my finally checks on the car before the expo.. See that the rear brake lights work sometimes and sometimes it wont work.. The 3rd brake light in the car is always working, but the other two don't all the time.. I checked the ground its good. I checked the wires nothing is broken, anyone help me out

try checking the wires on the sockets themselves - see if maybe they are loose.

i checked the bulbs, sockets and fuse... nothing wrong with them

Helms "official" fix is to completly remove all in-line sockets and reseat them.
"this effectively cleans the connectors".
My wife's Jetta did this... it was a relay that neeed to be replaced.

I'm going to be a jackhole for a sec cause someone else is thinking the same thing:
"If the lights only come on when braking... but go off when releasing the brake then this is normal operation."

cut wires? pinched? One more thing check the bulb where the contacts are the 2 little solderd parts make sure thats making contact with the socket. I seen this happen many times.

make sure 1157 bulbs are in right.....remember they have **** on them and they are offset......put them on the wrong way and then they dont work .......check your alarm connections never know
