Default Tach install help

Hello, I'm installing a tach on the civic, it's a 93 hatch, need a bit of help.

1. Where should I connect the green (signal) wire? I know it goes to the blue wire in the ECU, but should I just run it under the hood and connect it up there right beside the ECU? Where is a good hole to stick the wire though? I can't seem to find one..

2. My tach has a REALLY tinted screen, and you can'see ANYTHING unless it's lit up. For this reason, I need to connect it to a power source that's always on when the car is on. For now I just ran it to the wire wehre my deck goes, and it works fine. Is this okay to connect it there? If not, where should I connect it?

3. When I plug the tach power wire to the deck, and ground it, it lights up when I put the key to "on". This is good, as I need it to be lit up always. BUT, then wtf is the point of the illumination wire? I understand on most regular tachs it would just light it up when the lights are turned on, but since mine is always on, what's the point of the illumination wire? And where is the best place to connect it?

4. I think I blew a fuse when I was ******* with it, because now when I turn my headlights on, the guages dont' light up and my rear lights don't light up (unless I brake), if any of you guys know where a fuse for this stuff would be please post it would save me some time

Thank you!

1. Near your master cylinder, there's a blue wire with a capped off harness plug, use that.

2. Hook the white wire up to your cigarette lighter.

3. It's not supposed to "light up" with the power wire.

4. Under your dash board on driver's side, there's another fuse box near your battery.

1. Thanks

2. Thanks

3. Not to sound like a dick, because I DO appreciate the help, but didn't you see that my tach is pitch black when the backlight is off? For this reason I think it's supposed to light up always even if headlights are off. If it doesn't light up then I literally can not see anything at all and it could just be a black circle there it would be the exact same thing. I just want to know what the illumination wire would do and where I connect it...

4. Thanks

Thanks, but if its hot when its "on" doesn't that imply that it's always on? Isn't the illumination wire supposed to go to a wire that's only on when the headlights go on? I thought only the power should go to a source that's active when the car is on.
