Icon2 Tach help

Car: 92 civic
Motor: b18c5
Cluster: JDM sir
ECU: it's been so damn long I can't remember

A little over a year ago I noticed that the needle on the tach would hang up at 3k. It might do this for 30min and then start working, work right after the car was restarted, or just stay hung up. I blamed it on age and dealt with it.

Lately it has be doing it more and more often and never working correctly. I recently picked up a USDM eg cluster with a tach to replace the cluster in my wife's daily driver. Before I sent mine off to have fixed I thought I would swap them out just to make sure. No dice, the new cluster is doing them same thing.

Any thoughts as to what the issue could be?

Thanks for any help!

Check your grounds and connections inside the distributor mainly the ones on the igniter.. If any are lose squezze them to get a tighter connection and then report back with sucess or failure.. Good luck
