Car: '98 Civic DX
Swap: B16A2 (JDM)

Obviously since it's a JDM swap, the MAP sensor is not mounted to the throttle body like its U.S. counterpart.

My question: Can I use a throttle body style MAP sensor, and simply run a vacuum line from the "nipple" on the MAP sensor to a vacuum source on the intake manifold? I would assume this will work but I just want to make sure.

i dotn see a problem with that ..just make sure the vac hose has a good fit on the nipple ...

 

Yeah, it has a perfect fit over the nipple... about to start the car for the first time tonight, I'll let you know how it worked... Thanks.

 

This method DOES work for those who are interested in knowing.

 

It's common sense, of course it works.

Edit: B16A2 is NOT jdm, firewall map sensors only came on older than dirt B16's.
