Default swapping b17 internals w/ b16a1 block...issues?

my b17 is broke (head and block aren't good). I don't see why the crank/rods/pistons (maybe one piston, have to check) wouldn't still be usable. I want to put them into a b16a1 (so it can drop into my crx). Does anyone know what combination of parts I need to use? I'd like to use the b16a1 pistons to keep a higher compression ratio, as long as the slightly longer stroke of the b17 wouldn't cause clearance issues w/ the head (which should be fine as long as I use the b17 rods?)
I've heard that the cams in the b17 are the same as the b16a2, which are slightly more aggressive than b16a1. Mine have some small scratches on the bearing portions. If I have a machine shop polish them out, would I need to do anything to the head? Are there different size cam bearings, similar to how you do crankshaft bearings?

b17a block/head + 95% part = B16A, of course minus the crankshaft + rods and pistons. of course you can use B16A pistons, even CTR will work very well with your combination. also as far as cams, just don;t worry and use the b16a (unless they are auto)

Um I'm really not sure about the bearing sizes and whatnot because I have never attempted this swap, but I hear the b17 internals are a direct fit. Oh, and do use you b16 pistons. Don't forget, since the rest of your block was damaged, take the crank and rods to a machine shop and have them inspected for straightness and cracks or anything else that might be harmful.

If you want to up the compression use some CTR pistons, they make like 11.4:1 compression.
