Icon6 Swapped eg hatch won't crank!

Hey HT recently swapped my eg which has been a pain in the ***
So timing and everything is good. The problem is it won't crank.
I think my grounds r good I think? , I hear a click from inside when I turn ignition.
The only way I get it t crank is if I connect a battery charger? What can that be ?
My battery is good also. Thanks

Re-check all your grounds, and maybe see if your alternator is still working properly.

What are the necessary grounds?
I will check the alternator.

Is the starter new? I had one that id literally need to hold the key turned for 30 seconds before it would finally engage, but connected to a charger it would start up instantly.

Check the starter relay, and if that's good .. check the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the starter. The signal wire, try sending power to the signal wire and see if it cranks. if it does, rewire the signal wire from the ignition switch back to the starter.

That's the same thing it does but I can get it to crank if I make the starter ground with the wire that clips to it. So i don't know if it's starter

Dude, did you even read my post ? The starter signal wire is NOT receiving a ground, it's receiving voltage when voltage is applied directly to it to initially get it to crank. What you are doing is linking voltage from the constant to the signal in order for the starter to crank.

What you need to do is, send power straight to that signal wire and see if it cranks. If it does crank. most likely it's going to be your relay then. See if you can swap relays, or get another relay to fix the problem.
