surging problem at 2000RPM
When I'm cruising or accelerating lightly, once the RPMs hit about 2000, the engine starts surging up and down from 1900 to 2100 RPM. If I give it more throttle or downshift it runs smooth as long as I'm not within that RPM range. I've done all the normal tune up stuff. In fact, I've had this same problem before and after an engine swap. Any suggestions?

doesnt sound like a FITV to me......spray some carb cleaner on all of the vacuum lines/Intake manifold. See if it stops revving. The carb cleaner if sucked in will richen the mixture temporarily and stop it from revving.

that why its not your fitv, cause that only effect idle.
BTW, your fitv a loose fitv will not always stop when the car warms up. If its unscrewed enough it will do it all the time. Mine did it for about a month until it was all the time.
