Default suggestions for oil squirter......

I'm upgrading a ITR block with some JE and Eagle goodies, what do you guys suggest I do with the oil squirters? some people says pluging them would raise oil pressure. Isn't there a pressure relieve valve to compensate for that? what should I do. We're lowing compression for turbo application. hoping to push about 350-400HP. please help, thanks.

remove them and plug the holes. forged pistons dissipate heat better than the stock cast ones.

I'll second that.I just use the GE plugs.

why wouldn't you keep the squiters in regardless if the forged dissipate better? The squiters will aid in further cooling and keep the cylinder walls clean. I am sure oil contamination is at a higher risk with squiters, but if they were blocked the releive valves would be active. To raise oil pressure you are looking at upgrading or modifying the pump or changing out releif valves to suit a higher pressure. Changing releif valves put more strain on the oil pump, but it is a easy solution.

The squirters tend to hit most aftermarket forged pistons.Spraying oil around in the crankcase causes foaming and increased windage loses.Blocking will not increase pressure significantly but will keep more oil going to the bearings where it is really needed.Increasing oil on the cylinder wall just makes more work for the rings. It's not a big thing either way,but to me the disadvantages out weight the advantages of the squirters.I plug them.

they tend to hit them because of different skirt designs but you can bend them easily with some needle nose pliers and direct them perfectly under the wrist pins...but yes you really dont need them for forged pistons especially if your wrist pins come chrome coated and such...and what would be an approximate number of psi loss anyway if you took them out a really interesting question??
