Stupid Problem, please give opinions?
this weekend I put a Victor X mani. on a first gen B16. Instructions thought it would be a good Idea to remove oil filter, for easier passage to the bottom bolts. after doing so and finishing the whole manifold swap. We put everything on including the oil filter.
My questions it when a oil filter is aboout 2100 miles old and it is not to great of a oil filter like a "FRAM" oil filter. After taking it off for this mani swap would the oil filter be damaged to the point that it would cause all my oil in the engine to end up on the floor after starting.
I am ticked and hoping that this is the problem. Cause I don't really see any other reason this would happen
by the way when I put the oil filter on instead of it letting me twist to tighten it, it just came to a dead stop like I hit a wall. it still felt flush with the block but maybe I cross threaded it. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
I would be most appriciative.
thanks
Justin

Is the rubber gasket still there?
Hell yeah if it isn't sealed. The oil pump, pumps directly to the filter then from there it goes to the rest of the engine.
Pull the old filter and see where the gasket is.
