Default Stripping IM Bolt: Pic: How To?

Hey guys, I'm taking the intake manifold off my B18B1 engine, and I've gotten every bolt off except this one final one. It will not budge. I've tried using the PB Blaster spray too, with no success. I'm beginning to strip the head, which is going to be very very bad.

How do I get this bitch off?

Ben

Are you using a 6pt or 12pt socket? If its 12pt get a 6pt and try it. If you already rounded it, use vice grips and you'll need a new nut.

IF that dosen't woirk try heating it a little bit. Heat will cause the nut to expand and release from the stud.

as a last resort, just get a bolt/nut breaker and buy a new one.

I've used socket wrench, vice grips, adjustable size wrench (not sure of name), I'm piling up the tools here. There just isn't enough clearance around it for most tools to move. I don't care if I break it as long as I don't break the IM or engine or have to get it drilled out.

12pt is bad, it'll strip it more. 6pt has better surface, thats why they suggested it earlier.....

I will support the 6pt rule. i stripped my belt tensioner bolt using a 12pt socket, and some one told me to use a 6pt. I said why not, let me try it. As soon as i did,the bolt came out like nothing ever happened!

12 point sockets are **** for most car repairs i only use 6 point and rarely strip a bolt .......

try the 6 point and if it dont fit hamer it on and try to take it out with a breaker bar

last resort

if that dont help then get a good chisel and hammer at the edge to make it loosten it this usually will loosten it then just put a vice grips or plyers and take it off ... after you break it loose of course ... on and you can heat it up first also that helps alot
