Strange compression results...
I just check my timing and did a compression test on my B18C1 ....
14 BTDC and 245, 250, 248, 250 psi are my numbers ...
This is on a stock engine with 98K miles! I'm happy that the psi #'s are so consistant, but it is really disturbing to find that they are so high...
My psi # should be around 200 psi , not 250 psi... 250 psi is right if I had a 11.5 : 1 or greater compression ratio ... and again the engine is stock... ALL i HAVE IS i/h/E....
Freak from the factory? Alot of carbon buildup on the cylinders(cant imagine it would cause that much though)? Honda service tech accidentally placed a thinner headgasket on? Very strange.

Not Strange after all ...
Helms says that B18C1 should be
Nominal - 270
Minimum - 140
Variance between Cylinders, no more than 28psi...
I was just thrown off because C-speed racing says that the B18C1 should be 200 psi and the showed the results on a 11.6 : 1 motor being 250 psi ....
I guess their is a wide variance between engines... and the most important thing is that the psi should be consistant between cylinders...
