Stiff hydraulic clutch
So my GF just picked up a 99 accord. It has the most stiff clutch I've ever driven on a honda. I checked the fluid real quick and it looks fairly clean. It doesn't feel like there is any air in the system or that its loosing pressure. I was thinking about bleeding it but I didn't really think that will fix the problem. Do you guys know if a hydraulic clutch has a separate booster? Does it go straight to the master cylinder or does it some how share the booster with the braking system? Any suggestions on this problem? Thanks!
It doesn't use any kind of booster. A loose clutch should lead you to believe that there's air in the system, not a stiff one. It might be a really tight master or slave cylinder, or it might be the pressure plate. It's very possible that you just happened to have gotten a really stiff pressure plate. The clutch in my stock EF easily requires twice as much effort as the last EG I had (LS swap).
