I have a 1991 Si hatch with kyb agx's and H&R race springs. This might be a rhetorical question, but is my ride stiff as hell because of the race springs or the dampers, or both? I have agx/ground control combo on my 97 coupe and the ride is much nicer, which leads me to believe its the springs. However the hatch is much lighter and maybe it will ride this way no matter what springs/shocks I put on? Thanks...

 

it's the springs, your shocka are adjustable right? put the setting to like 1 or two on both rear and front, that could help alittle bit, but your springs are the main cause of the stiffness

 

Yeah...shocks are at 1 on both front and rear, and I still almost hit my head on the ceiling when I hit bumps.

 

do you know the spring rates?

 

How hard is it dropped? Maybe you're ridding on the bump stops.

 

Hmm..good call. I know on my coupe I had to cut the bumpstops in half for the G/C's and I dont remember doing that on the hatch. I'll have to check that. As for the spring rates of the H&R race...i have no idea. Anyone have that info handy?

 

what kind of tires do you have..... if you have 18inch rims with 35 series tires.... thats the worst ride you can get......
