Default Step Deck Height?? How tall??

I was wondering how much higher than the rest of the deck is recommened for a step deck process? The number I have is about .004in.

does that seem excessively high? I would have figured like .002 or something like that but it just seems like too much.

with this process done, will that require me to do anything different when I bolt the head on? example... different torque specs, or maybe retorque the head after one heat cycle (start the car let it warm then completely cool down)

using ARP studs, and Cometic gasket. Setup is LS/VTEC 85mm resleeved bore.
(just in case you needed to know)

thanks for the info.
