steering wheel rubber slop?
sorry if this has been posted, i searched and couldnt find anything. well i found a stock 91si steering wheel but the rubber is loose on it. is there anyway to fix this? or should i just keep looking for another one? thanks in advance. and sorry for any punctuation and grammer mistakes i posted this using my phone.
I bought a 93 accord as a winter car, and steering wheel rubber was loose too. What i did was I took a sharp razor blade, and I put a slice in the rubber where it wouldn't be seen (about 4-5" slice) . Like if the top is loose, i cut on the bottom part of the rubber and i bought "Emblem Adhesive" from an auto parts store. I squeezed the glue into the cut and wrapped the wheel with electrical tape to close it up. I left it over night and i've been driving like this for 4 months.
I used emblem adhesive, becuause it drys fast and it doens't dry hard. I wouldn't use super glue because it would be temporary, epoxy won't work because it drys hard and it would probably crack over time and the rubber would be loose again. So when buying an adhesive, read the label. Stay away from glues that dry/cure hard, and make sure it bonds to METAL and RUBBER......
